Two French bulldogs belonging to American pop singer Lady Gaga were robbed in Hollywood, Los Angeles after her private walker was wounded by four shots to the body.
Los Angeles police said two men – at least one of them armed with a semiautomatic pistol – took two of the dogs and fled in a vehicle Wednesday night. A third dog, Asia, was recovered by police from the scene of the attack and was reportedly later picked up by another member of the singer’s staff. TMZ reported that Lady Gaga offered a reward of half a million dollars for the return of her 2 dogs (Koji and Gustav) without answering any questions.
French bulldogs are a coveted and expensive breed that can sell for thousands of dollars. The TMZ report commented on the possibility that the thieves did not know those dogs were from Lady Gaga, but were simply looking for French bulldogs. This breed has become very popular and there has been a growing trend of theft of these animals, which can cost several thousand dollars as puppies, for sale or breeding.
The Los Angeles Police Department is handling the case but so far no arrests have been made. Lady Gaga, whose recent appearances included performing the national anthem at President Joe Biden’s inauguration ceremony last month, is in Rome for the filming of Ridley Scott’s «Gucci,» in which she plays the former wife of President Joe Biden. Italian fashion icon, who was convicted of orchestrating his murder.
