NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, are unique files that live on a blockchain and are able to verify ownership of a work of digital art. In less words, it is a type of collectible digital art print, where only one person owns each piece of art.
In October, Winkelmann sold his first series of NFTs, with a pair going for $66,666.66 each. In December, he sold a series of works for $3.5 million total. And last month, one of the NFTs that originally sold for $66,666.66 was resold for $6.6 million.
This week Winkelmann made history by selling the most expensive NFT ever with a price tag of $ 69 million, this is the artwork.
It could be time to draw that piece of art and sell it for millions, Winkelmann is one of the three most valuable living artists in terms of his art.
In my opinion, I think that if someone has that money and wants to spend it on that, then it is their problem there are many unnecessary things in the world, but many people can also see it as a business and start selling their own works of art. NFT format or they only buy works by other artists hoping that they will go up in price in a while.
