The annual sport event with the greatest impact in the world is just around the corner. Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City and PSG will fight over the next two weeks to earn a place in the 2021 Champions League final. The date is marked on any player’s calendar and the outcome of the competition will lead the winners to the history of European football.
The four semifinalists prepare a possible scenario with the final on a gamble, as none of them want to give up the trophy. The month of May will feature decisive duels both in the continental tournament and in domestic competitions.
The outcome of the continental tournament will take place in Istanbul. The Atatürk Olympic Stadium will be the main essenary for the 2020/2021 Champions League. Initially, the essenary would host the final of the last edition, but UEFA decided to hold it in Lisbon due to the epidemiological situation in the country during the coronavirus pandemic.
The Atatürk Olympic Stadium is an old acquaintance of the Champions League, as it witnessed the «Miracle of Istanbul». The coliseum hosted the final of the top continental competition during the 2004/2005 season. In this match, Liverpool came back in six minutes from 3-0 in favor of Milan, imposed by the Italians in the first 45 minutes. Finally, the penalty shootout fell on the English side and Liverpool raised their fifth champions league trophy.
However, Turkey has tightened restrictions and measures to slow the advance of the coronavirus in the country. For this reason, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish president, announced yesterday the imposition of a total confinement from April 29 to May 17, twelve days before the final of the Champions League. Faced with this scenario, UEFA could organize a new context for the 2021 Champions League final.

At the moment, the Atatürk Olympic Stadium is preparing to host the last match of the top European competition. UEFA informed the teams participating in the quarterfinals that the public would be allowed into the Turkish Coliseum on 29 May. In this way, 9000 fans would be distributed throughout the 76 092 seats of the stadium.
But nothing is 100% certain, not even the place were the final will take place, with this pandemic I personally think that we shouldn´t spect things, we should just let the time pass and wait for the best. Hopefully this final will get people back into the stadiums with all the health measures, football has not been the same since the public was kicked out of the stadium, and I don´t think that the competition will be the same without the fans.
