Pork Leg Marinated with Orange

This recipe is for you to inspire for your Christmas dinner and remember that this is more than delicious and very easy to make.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 3 more cups of orange
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup of lard
  • 1 big pork leg
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Directions:

  • First you need to defrost the pork, then with a knife you will do little stabs all over the pork leg.
  • Spread the salt and pepper on the leg
  • Done that, melt the lard and in your blender pour your cup of orange juice, the lard, and garlic. And with this new sauce you pour it on the leg and make sure it enters to all the little holes. Let it repose for 2 hours.
  • Then in a pan (low flame) you will put the sugar, when it started to melt and caramelized pour the 3 cups of orange juice and mix, finally for new sauce you will have to a little touch of honey.
  • For the last part preheat the oven to 200º C and meanwhile you will pour your last sauce to the leg and let it rest for 30min and then put it on the oven for 60min

Optional:

You can decorate this pork leg with thin slides of orange all over and also with cherries.
